Collin solves the first puzzle of the Electric Lotus project. The trunk release cable was disconnected and it took some serious mojo to wiggle up in there and get it unlocked. I do some more prep work for the electricians (drilling holes for conduit). We get a massive donation of tables, furniture, and gear from a large local church. And for his birthday, Batman gets his operation training on Project Thumper.

May 22, 2011 - What type of motors are you planning on using for the car? Are there specially-made electric car motors, or will you have to use some from a completely unrelated piece of equipment?

Physicsduck Says:

May 22, 2011 - Actually it's behind the driver's seat, and we knew that in the first 30 seconds. The cable was disconnected. ;)

Serostern Says:

May 22, 2011 - Look! He made a glory hole!

greenjibbles Says:

May 23, 2011 - I'm furious about the fact that your taking something rare and beautiful and turning it into a slap in the face for car lovers. And not out of necessity, not to keep it on the road, but because you feel like it. You sir have lost a friend who was literally moments from becoming a member. Good day and goodbye.

dsgreat3 Says:

May 23, 2011 - church makes a donation to a science group now that is progress (maybe they thought they wouldn't need them after the rapture)

carfive175 Says:

May 23, 2011 - Should have kept the gearbox as you will need it

Physicsduck Says:

May 23, 2011 - ROTFLMFAO Somehow I think we'll get by without you. Beware of people who hold strong opinions about things they don't understand.

greenjibbles Says:

May 23, 2011 - I don't understand that your destroying something rare just because you feel like it? Whatever. I'm sure you can manage without me. Have fun destroying that poor Lotus.

Physicsduck Says:

May 23, 2011 - We're not destroying it, and it is the wish of a very special man that we do this.

greenjibbles Says:

May 23, 2011 - I would say you ARE destroying it. You have killed a rare and beautiful Lotus Esprit. I may not like it, I may not agree with it, but it is your right to do so. I respect that, and understand you are creating something unique. It's my choice not to be a part of something which undertakes projects like this. If it weren't for the fact that it was still a working example or at least a repairable example, I wouldn't be upset that you were converting it.

May 23, 2011 - your vids always start out so hard on volume, I love it!!!

poonagellama17 Says:

May 24, 2011 - I am a care lover and i love the fact that someone has the balls to do this to such a rare car. I also love the fact that it will be an electric car because i want this nation to go to alternate fuel sources. Also this will be a Great addition to TGG's list of amazing things they have done.

poonagellama17 Says:

May 24, 2011 - I am a car lover and I personally think this is awesome. It's good to see that someone has the balls to actually do this to such a rare car, most people would freak out to even touch a car like this and TGG is making it into something that most people would only dream of.

Physicsduck Says:

May 24, 2011 - Yeah, we got that, goodbye.
